# Gramota

Gramota is an on-device Russian proofreading app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
It checks and corrects spelling, punctuation, and grammar in Russian text
entirely on the device: no internet connection is required, and no text is
sent to a server.

- Proofreading engine: 246 million parameters, a word-tagging classifier
  (not a text-generation model).
- 99.7% of the engine's operations run on the Apple Neural Engine.
- ~17 ms to proofread one sentence.
- ~130x faster than the earlier generative-model engine (about 2,160 ms
  per sentence).
- Engine download size: 493 MB.
- Spelling correction layer: a 422,000-form dictionary.
- 2.1 million synthetic training pairs were generated on one Mac.
