Gramota 1.3

A second, deeper engine

Beyond the always-on check, Gramota can now run a separate, larger model that reads your text sentence by sentence and catches what the regular check can't: badly garbled words, rare punctuation, long or unusual phrasing. One-time download (a few GB, Wi-Fi recommended), then it runs fully offline like everything else in the app. Turn it on from Profile.

It reads the whole text, not a sample

Earlier builds during development had a hidden time budget that could stop a long check partway through and misreport it as "text too long." That's gone — the deep check now runs to the last sentence, regardless of length.

You can watch it work

A progress bar, the sentence currently being checked, and a time estimate that calibrates itself to your device after the first run. Stop it at any point — whatever it already fixed stays fixed.

Words it couldn't resolve are marked in the text itself

not just mentioned in a summary below — a dotted amber underline, distinct from the solid green of an actual correction.

Your history reflects the deep check's real result

not an intermediate version from partway through — score, correction count, and category breakdown are all computed from what the deep check actually produced.

Run-together «не» is split

«Незнаю», «нехочет», «непоедем» → «не знаю», «не хочет», «не поедем». 22,304 such merges learned, including rare ones nothing used to catch before.

Six new rule classes

The checker now also catches:

• Dashes between subject and predicate («Москва столица России» → «Москва — столица России»)
• не/ни confusion («нечего» vs «ничего»)
• «в течение» vs «в течении»
• Redundant «более» («более лучше»)
• Commas around direct address («Привет Маша» → «Привет, Маша»)
• Run-together words («уменя», «всвязи», «чтото»)

The letter «ё» restored where it belongs

In rare and inflected word forms («поблекший» → «поблёкший»). Everyday spellings like «еще» are left exactly as you wrote them — this is deliberately narrow, not a blanket ё-ification.

Comma before «чтобы», and a few other small punctuation fixes

that the deep check now catches on top of the regular checker (e.g. «Я позвонил чтобы предупредить» → «Я позвонил, чтобы предупредить»).

Your punctuation stays yours

«Ура!!!», «Что???», ellipses, and «)))» smileys are no longer flattened into a single mark. Gramota fixes errors, not your voice.

Links and email addresses are never edited

not even the text inside them.

English interface

Gramota now speaks English as well as Russian, matching your device's language.

The app no longer falls behind itself on very long paragraphs

Fixed an edge case where a single long paragraph could silently skip the regular check and report a perfect score with zero corrections.

Gramota notices when a downloaded model is out of date

and offers the update, instead of silently running a stale version.

More robust with text pasted from other apps

plus a handful of small interface fixes.
